About The Blog

Welcome to my blog!

Every music fan is a music collector. We collect stuff like:
  • Old records
  • CDs and DVDs
  • Cassette tapes and video tapes
  • Music magazines (like Spin, Billboard, MTV Ink, Revolver, Blender and Rolling Stone)
  • Songhits
  • Posters and/or pictures of musicians that you love
  • Musical instruments that you play to invoke the inner star in you

Every music fan should have a merchandise or two to show to the world their love for music (and their fanaticism for musicians). No serious music fan should devoid themselves of such stuff, same thing as a musician should not be without musical instrument(s) in their room or garage.

But a serious music fan does not only listen to music and collect merchandise. What other ways can a music lover do to practice their love for music? Blog about it, of course! I am doing my part now.

I have outgrown collecting cassette tapes, magazines and songhits for quite some time (because I am broke and I have priority purchases to take care of now). I watch music videos now on YouTube and download songs, instead of having physical records. Now, I blog to keep my love for music (and certain memories alive).

I envision Music and Memories not only as my canvas where I can hone my writing skills, but also as a repository of my memories tied to certain songs, plus my love of music. With this blog, I combine my love for writing and music. Neat, huh?

When an old song pops out, we begin to recall certain memories tied to the song. We remember experiences, beautiful and painful, from many years back. We bring back to mind the moments we had over songs with or without people: Experiences we only not felt with the senses of touch and sight, but also hearing.

When we listen to old songs, we also recall the times we used to hate, but now love. Perhaps there are songs we used to hate or not give a listen many years ago, but now do because they remind us of our beloved times. We oldies always think our times are the best.

There are also new songs that help evoke memories, and I will do my best to feature them too. After all, this is what Music and Memories is all about. Not all today's songs are bad, but some of them do stand out.

So kids, if you love music, then do check out my blog often for posts. I believe you will surely love the songs I feature in my upcoming posts.

Happy listening, watching, and reminiscing!
